How Gold Coast Seafood Delivery Works

Tasman Star Seafood delivery operates on a scheduled route model — not on-demand. Orders placed before the cutoff are fulfilled on the next delivery day for your suburb. Here is the full process from order to door:

1. Browse and Order

Browse 150+ products at tasmanstarseafoodmarket.com.au. Select your delivery day at checkout and place your order before the 2 PM cutoff the day before.

2. Morning Preparation

On delivery morning, your order is picked fresh from the cool room, packed into insulated boxes with frozen gel packs, and loaded onto our refrigerated vehicles. Sashimi cuts are hand-sliced that morning.

3. Temperature-Controlled Transit

Our own refrigerated vehicles — not couriers — carry your order at 0–4°C for chilled product and –18°C for frozen. GPS-tracked routes are planned to minimise time in transit.

4. Delivery to Your Door

The driver contacts you on approach. If you're not home, your order is left in a safe, shaded location — insulated packaging holds temperature for 2–3 hours on a typical Gold Coast day.

Do you deliver seafood across the Gold Coast?

Yes. Tasman Star Seafood delivers fresh seafood across the Gold Coast on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Orders are packed for cold-chain handling and transported in temperature-controlled vehicles from our Labrador and Varsity Lakes operations to keep products at safe, fresh delivery conditions.

What suburbs do you deliver to?

Delivery coverage runs from Ormeau and Pimpama in the north to Coolangatta and Tweed Heads in the south. This includes Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, Robina, Southport, Varsity Lakes, Mudgeeraba, Currumbin, Palm Beach, Miami, Mermaid Beach, Nerang, Ashmore and Bundall. Full route details are on our delivery areas page.

Do you deliver to Northern Rivers NSW (Byron Bay, Ballina, Lismore)?

Yes. We run a dedicated Northern Rivers route on Tuesday and Friday covering Byron Bay, Ballina, Lennox Head, Lismore, Bangalow, Casino, Maclean, Iluka, Evans Head, Alstonville, Mullumbimby, Brunswick Heads, Ocean Shores and Kyogle. Seafood is kept in the same cold chain as Gold Coast deliveries — temperature-controlled vehicles from our Labrador facility.

How fresh is your delivered seafood?

Our own trawler fleet lands fish within 24–48 hours of catch. Prawns are snap-frozen at sea or iced within hours. Every order is packed the morning of delivery, sealed in insulated boxes with frozen gel packs, and transported in temperature-controlled vehicles — chilled product held at 0–4°C, frozen at –18°C or colder — from our Gold Coast facility to your door.

How do you keep seafood cold during delivery?

Full cold-chain protocol. Orders leave our cold rooms packed in insulated boxes with multiple frozen gel packs (or dry ice for longer Northern Rivers routes). Vehicles are fitted with refrigerated compartments maintained at 0–4°C for chilled and –18°C for frozen. Routes are planned to minimise transit time so seafood arrives at the same temperature it left our facility.

Is there a minimum order and what is the cutoff?

No minimum order for delivery. Place your order by 2:00 PM the day before your chosen delivery day — Sunday 2 PM for Monday, Monday 2 PM for Tuesday, Thursday 2 PM for Friday. For Christmas, Easter and long weekends, order at least 5–7 days in advance to guarantee premium lines like bugs, lobster and fresh oysters.

What if I'm not home when delivery arrives?

Our driver will call or text you on approach. If no one answers, we leave orders in a shaded, safe location (porch, side gate, garage) pre-agreed at checkout. Insulated packaging with gel packs holds temperature for 2–3 hours. For valuable orders or whole lobsters, we recommend choosing a day when someone will be home.

Can I refreeze seafood that arrives partially thawed?

If product is still very cold to the touch with some ice crystals present, it is safe to refreeze once — though some texture loss is unavoidable. If fully thawed and no longer cold, cook within 24 hours and do not refreeze. For best results, transfer frozen items straight to your freezer on arrival and thaw overnight in the fridge the day before you plan to cook.

How much does seafood delivery cost on the Gold Coast?

Tasman Star Seafood delivery pricing varies by suburb and order value — free delivery thresholds apply across the Gold Coast delivery network. There is no minimum order. Check the delivery areas page at tasmanstarseafoodmarket.com.au/delivery-areas for the exact free delivery threshold for your suburb. All orders are packed in insulated cold-chain boxes at no extra charge.

Can I get sashimi delivered to my Gold Coast home?

Yes. Sashimi-grade salmon, tuna, kingfish, and scallop blocks are available for home delivery across the Gold Coast on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Sashimi orders require 24 hours advance notice to guarantee cuts — same-day availability depends on morning stock. Sashimi platters (Small $79, Medium $99, Large $149, Ocean $149) are also available for delivery. Sashimi is packed at 0–2°C with additional ice packs and delivered in a dedicated temperature-controlled vehicle.

What is the cutoff time for same-week seafood delivery on the Gold Coast?

The order cutoff for each Gold Coast delivery day is 2:00 PM the day prior. Monday delivery: order by 2 PM Sunday. Tuesday delivery: order by 2 PM Monday. Friday delivery: order by 2 PM Thursday. For long weekends and public holidays, Tasman Star recommends ordering 3–5 days in advance — premium lines like whole mud crab, rock lobster, and Sydney Rock oysters sell out quickly before holiday periods.

What makes Tasman Star Seafood different from other Gold Coast seafood delivery services?

Three differences stand out. First, Tasman Star operates its own commercial fishing fleet — the Peter K prawn trawler fishes Queensland coastal waters and supplies wild-caught prawns directly to retail and delivery customers, cutting out the wholesale middleman. Second, the cold chain is owned end-to-end: refrigerated vehicles, dedicated cold rooms at the Labrador processing facility, and insulated delivery packaging — no third-party couriers handling your seafood. Third, 30 years of operation on the Gold Coast since 1994, with over 150 products including sashimi-grade blocks, live crab, and custom platters that most delivery services do not stock.
