Gold Coast 500 2026: Plan Your Seafood Shopping

The Gold Coast 500 runs from 23–25 October 2026. For visitors planning seafood meals at their accommodation, the first job is checking access to the building. A street-circuit weekend needs a more deliberate shopping plan than an ordinary beach holiday.

The official Supercars event page confirms the dates. Use its current program for race information rather than building your weekend around an old timetable.

Check access before arranging groceries

Supercars publishes community and resident information, including links about traffic, precinct access and holiday stays. Read the section that applies to your accommodation and ask your host how you will reach the entrance with groceries.

Do not assume a driver can stop at the usual reception door. If your building is within an affected area, establish an accessible handover point and check whether the proposed arrangement works with the store before placing an order.

Keep three details together: the full street address, the accommodation contact number and your expected arrival time. Apartment names alone can cause confusion when several buildings have similar names.

Plan one meal around arrival

After travelling, a meal that needs little equipment can be useful. Cooked prawns with bread, cucumber and lemon are a straightforward option if you have a working fridge and space to prepare them.

Do the dry-goods shop first. Buy chilled seafood last and go directly to your accommodation with it in an insulated cooler. If check-in is delayed, rearrange the shopping rather than leaving seafood in a parked car.

Our holiday apartment guide includes a short kitchen checklist.

Hosting friends who are watching from home?

Choose food that lets you sit down with your guests. An oven dish is easier to manage than cooking individual fish portions in several batches. Tomato and olive fish parcels can be assembled shortly before cooking and served with bread or potatoes.

For a barbecue, prepare the salad and table first, then cook lemon and oregano prawn skewers close to serving. Raw prawns suit that recipe; cooked prawns are intended for a different meal.

Avoid putting the entire seafood order on the table at once. Serve what the group is eating and keep the rest properly chilled.

Buying on the northern Gold Coast

Tasman Star’s Labrador store is one shopping option for visitors staying on the northern Gold Coast. Check the store address and opening hours, then plan your actual route against the event’s traffic information. This is not a promise of a particular travel time or access route.

If you would prefer delivery, check suburb eligibility and confirm any unusual access requirements. Do not assume race-weekend deliveries can enter a restricted precinct.

Before you order

Agree on how many people are eating, whether the seafood is the main meal and who will collect it. Then shop the current range, allowing for stock availability.

This is an independent shopping guide, checked on 7 October 2026. Tasman Star is not an official Gold Coast 500 partner. For other dates in the area, see the spring events guide.
